Sandy and I picked up a new bike this past weekend, a 2000 Harley Davidson Electra Glide Standard. I have been looking for a bagger for the last year or so and we came across this one in the paper before we went on vacation. It has had 2 owners and only had a little over 10,000 miles on it. It has also had a Stage 1 upgrade.
It is nice. A very different ride than what I am use to, but nice. It definitely does not have the power of my S&S 96 but she does handle well on the highway. She runs nice and smooth, lots of storage in the bags, the radio is kind of fun, and she looks good. I hate the windshield, I don’t like looking through it. We ordered a shorter one and it should be here in a day or 2. Other than changing the windshield I think we are going to keep her like she is.

and things are all caught up. All orders that were placed while we were away have been processed and the stickers are on the way.
We had a great time, but it is good to be back home. Right now we have a few stickers that the inventory is pretty low on but we should have the stock back up in the next week. We also have a few new stickers that will be posted this week.
Thanks for hanging in there with us, the vacation was much needed.
We are having a problem with our reverse DNS since we moved our servers. This means that some email servers are rejecting mail from ChopperStickers.com since it cannot verify the IP address. We are working to get this fixed and should have the problem corrected sometime today.

It’s been crazy today, trying to get everything squared away so we can head out on vacation. I had almost forgot about the Friday Eye Candy Babe.

Well yesterday turned out to be a very busy day. So I never got around to posting Monday’s Joke. Hopefully I will have some time to breath today. Anyway here’s your joke, and it’s a good one.
Swallow the ball!
A man enters a barber shop for a shave.
While the barber is foaming him up, he mentions the problems he has getting a close shave around the cheeks.
“I have just the thing,” says the barber taking a small wooden ball
from a nearby drawer. “Just place this between your cheek and gum.”
The client places the ball in his mouth and the barber proceeds with
the closest shave the man has ever experienced. After a few strokes the client asks in garbled speech.
“And what if I swallow it?”
“No problem,” says the barber. “Just bring it back tomorrow like everyone else does.

Well it was a long weekend, but the ChopperStickers.com server has been moved to the new data center successfully. It took a little longer than expected and the server was down for about 3 hours on Saturday. The new data center is very nice - dual power grids, very fast Internet connection, nice clean facility. I am still having some problems with reverse DNS lookups so some of my mail may be getting rejected by servers that check this sort of thing, I hope to have this resolved later this afternoon.
As far as the server goes, everything was back up and running at 100% late Saturday evening with only a few DNS servers around the ‘net that had not updated to the new ip addresses, by Sunday afternoon all the DNS queries were responding with our new IPs and all was well.
Today is going to be a busy day also, checking and rechecking things so Monday’s Joke will be a little late. Thanks for hanging in there with me.
Don’t forget we are headed out for vacation on May 19, 2007 and we will be out until May 25, 2007. ChopperStickers.com will remain open but orders placed after about 10 PM, May 18, 2007 will not be processed until we return on the 25th.

I got a call from the company where my web server is located. They are moving - tomorrow! I have to move my server to the new facility. I wish I had a little more notice but it should not be that big of a deal and I hope the site will only be down for a couple of hours.
I have already been issued my new IP addresses and I have registered the new nameserver host addresses.
Early tomorrow morning (Saturday, May 12, 2007) I will be TEMPORARILY closing the ChopperStickers.com store to prepare for the move. I hope to have the server moved to the new location and back operational by lunch time.
I will keep you updated on the status.
