CHICAGO (Reuters) - “Screw it. Let’s Ride.” That’s the advice that Harley-Davidson Inc, the motorcycle maker whose sales have been dragged down by the U.S. economic slowdown, has for customers fearful of falling home values, rising gas prices and a stagnant job market.
“Over the last 105 years in the saddle, we’ve seen wars, conflicts, depression, recession, resistance and revolution,” reads the ad, which shows a helmeted rider on a Harley chopper silhouetted against what appears to be the red and white stripes of a slightly tattered American flag.
“We’ve watched a thousand hand-wringing pundits disappear in our rear-view mirror. But every time this country has come out stronger than before …. If 105 years have proved one thing, it’s that fear sucks and it doesn’t last long. So screw it, let’s ride.”

Spring is when motorcyclists from the northern half of the country dust off their boots and get on their motorcycles for the first ride of the year. Riders from the South take road trips to escape the heat. That is why state and federal agencies recognize each May as Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month. This year Congress will weigh in as well.

Got this in my email this afternoon, might be worth checking out…

Greetings All Users;
I have set up a dedicated IM (Instant Messaging) Server for exclusive use of the AzCMC and any other confederation’s, bikers rights members, independent bikers, and the like. This service is provided FREE of charge and will be available 24/7 as long as the Qwest lines are not down.
I have searched the web and have found no other type of FREE communication device offered exclusively for Bikers….
The url is http://www.biker-lifestyle.com or http://www.biker-lifestyle.org
1) Signup for an account
2) Download the Spark Client and install it on your system.
3) Login using your username, password that you created to the biker-lifestyle.com Server
It’s that simple if you’d like to give it a try…
Sortly I would hope that we will be the first and only World Wide IM system dedicated to Bikers Exclusively…..
PS… This BLIM system also interfaces and replaces any AIM, Yahoo Chat, and MSM Chat client that you currently use… This means you can also interact with your current IM systems from ours….

Have not really looked into it yet so I am not sure how legit it is. I am not really into IM and I definitely do not dig something that forces you to use their client.
Anyway stop by there and have a look. If it ain’t worth it, stop back in here and let us know.

Well Saturday was anyway. The weather was awesome.
I ride all year round, but in the winter or when the weather is crappy, I am usually riding to get some where. Saturday Sandy and I just took a ride. No place to go, no schedule, just a nice ride through the backroads of Suffolk and Isle of Wight.
We stopped at Anna’s, a little Italian place in Smithfield, that we have ridden by this place countless times and just have not been in the mood for Italian when we did. It was really a nice place GREAT food, FABULOUS service, and the prices were very reasonable! I had the lasagna and Sandy had some other pasta dish, both of us really enjoyed our meals and just hanging out.
Sandy made mention a couple of times that she should have been out on hers, but I was really glad to have her riding with me.
Overall just a great day. I did not keep track of our mileage, but we were out most of the afternoon. I really do enjoy it when we can just get out and ride.
Hope you were able to get out and enjoy a ride this weekend.
